On 23rd March 2016, the Basic Course on Forest Fires Protection was completed for 21 brigades from the BelHa and Niños Héroes communities. We appreciate the support of CONAFOR Campeche, Mexico, the protected area of Yum Balan, Quintana Roo and, of course, the company of Miguel Alvaro, expert in the subject. In addition to funding from the German Development Cooperation Agency (GIZ) and Pronatura Peninsula de Yucatan, thank you for contributing to this conservation strategy.
During these three days of work, among other topics, the use and management of specialized hand tools and minor equipment, basic forest fire terminologies and incident management system were addressed.
